Irfan Shaharuddin

Irfan Shaharuddin is an Associate Programme Officer at the Centre for Independent Journalism (CIJ) with a specialisation in rights to information. He has been working closely with the Legal Affairs Division (BHEUU) from the Prime Minister’s Department (PMO) towards the tabling of freedom of information (FOI) legislation in parliament for over a year. Throughout the period, he has been engaged in nationwide roadshows and advocacy work involving parliamentarians, academicians, legal bodies and CSOs’ representatives to foster an ideal framework of FOI legislation. His work with CIJ contributes to the broader goal of good governance, transparency and accountability by shifting the culture to disclose public information.
