Peace Lab

Peace Lab is a flagship programme by the Initiative to Promote Tolerance and Prevent Violence (INITIATE.MY) dedicated to promoting religious freedom, fostering tolerance and strengthening peaceful coexistence in Malaysia.

Peace Lab is INITIATE.MY’s flagship programme building the next generation of peacebuilding leaders in Malaysia. Since launch, it has trained over 90 leaders from diverse ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds to champion religious freedom, tolerance, and peace in their own communities.

So far, the programme has spanned:

  1. Peace Lab for Youth (2021)
  2. Peace Lab for Religious Leaders & Thinkers (2024)
  3. Peace Lab for Malaysian Leaders & Thinkers (2025)

Behind the programme is a coalition of more than 30 partners, from government agencies like SEARCCT, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), and the Department of National Unity and Integration (JPNIN), to platforms like TikTok, the Content Forum of Malaysia, and civil society organisations. It’s a track record built on handling the sensitivities of interfaith and interethnic dialogue with care, and delivering at scale alongside the institutions that matter most.
